Every Lesbian Should Know Jenny Shimizu

As Jenny Shimizu walked into a party I recently attended over NYC Pride weekend, it floored me that no one seemed to recognize who she was. In fact, it made me feel quite old in a lesbian community that has recently gotten significantly younger...or maybe I'm just getting significantly older. While I was ranting and raving that Jenny was there, my comrades surrounding me were whispering among themselves, "who the fuck is she talking about!" Girls...we all should know Jenny Shimizu!
In case you don't know, Jenny Shimizu has been linked with Angelina Jolie and Madonna and dons a dope tattoo of a naked woman on a wrench that I've been personally obsessed with for years. Not only that, but she started out as a model for Calvin Klein, Versace and Jean-Paul Gaulthier. Although it seems that the new dimension of the "lesbian woman" has taken a more feminine shift, Jenny still rocks the androgynous look that I find so appealing in an ever-fading butch demographic.

I Want Your Baby Fat!

So, we did it again...last night might have been the dopest party I've ever been to and luckily enough, I was one of the girls throwing it for you:-) The night started with Radio Rose spinning her nasty shit, giving shout outs to the late and beloved Michael Jackson that unfortunately passed on Thursday afternoon. Next up was DJ Frances, who made the ladies scream her name by the end of her set. At 12:30, we had a showdown at the hoe down with Sandflower Power performing live downstairs, scantily clad and adorned with gold star eye make-up...freshness. Then the one and only Nicole from Nina Sky spun some hot shit for an hour before finishing off with MTV2 VJ, Jasmine Solano. The dance floor was rocking, the place was f****** packed and everyone kicked off NYC Pride in style with the ladies of Proposition bringing you Gold Star, a new bi-weekly Thursday night party that keeps it hot!

Kaki King at Stuy Town On July 15th

So if you haven't heard of this amazing guitar player, now you have! Kaki King is considered the #1 guitar player in the world and has opened for the Rolling Stones, among others. Not only that, but she is an out and proud,attractive lesbian that I happened to catch at The Living Room on the LES before she became famous. I've even gone so far as to write her on Facebook to see if she would be willing to perform for us at Proposition...to no avail!
Luckily for us, NYC is filled with free shit over the summer months and none other than Miss King is playing at Stuyvesant Town on July 15th at 6:00. If you don't know where Stuy Town is, it is located in the East Village and is like an entrapment of sorts in which once you enter, you will never find your fucking way out! However, just listen for the sweet sound of a finely tuned guitar and you will be led straight, I mean crooked, since you are gay, to Kaki King's brilliant voice and extraordinary fingers picking away at that acoustic guitar...ooh la la!
